Communicating More

We’re so excited to launch our blog and have a place to write about technology, information distribution, translations, Python, Django and the things that make us excited or furious.

We just love it when development teams have their own blog. Open source teams have always had open mailing lists, planets and stuff, so it was about time . We love the fact that tech companies has its own casual blog, and we love that individual development teams also have their own place to write about their hacks and new features. Like what some telecom companies like to say: “Let’s communicate more”.

This is also one of the nicest things about many Web-2.0 startups nowadays (did you also hear the ambient drumroll right before the buzzword?). Sure, some of the blogs out there are purely of marketing’s sake, but in any way, it’s pretty cool when people are talking about their work, express their opinions in the open via blogging, twitting, and other nifty tools from the ever-growing list.

The core team behind Transifex is the usual group of geeks behind a software product. All of us are more or less internet junkies, information vaccum tubes, and some of us have blogs since 2004. Friends know how much we love talking about our ideas and receive valuable feedback from people more clever than us and the very people using our tools (which one can tell anyway from the 10 or so international conferences Transifex has already been presented to).

You can follow our updates using the RSS/Atom feeds, which you can subscribe to and receive updates via email (go FeedBurner!). We are also microblogging on Twitter, writing short posts, crazy ideas and internal gossip.

I’m pretty sure the days with 18-hour-straight development periods will indeed continue. What’ll change is that some of our small breaks will involve blogging here. A big thumbs-up to the WordPress community and Automattic for such a fine tool.

Here’s to a good start!
